Dad (sarcastically) - "So your new teacher is Mr. Richter? Did he tell you about his scale?"
Zooey - "What scale?"
Dad - "The Richter Scale..."
Zooey (confidently) - "No, but I don't think he has one. He's not as self-conscious as the women teachers are."
